Jan Polhemus - CTO


Jan has over 30 years of experience in domestic and international banking networks, procurement and distribution systems, the construction industries, and large-scale systems integration projects.  During his career he has been involved in the startup of three successful technology businesses, each of them subsequently acquired by publicly traded corporations.  His involvement in high-performance transaction processing for the financial industries began in 1980 when he joined Tandem Computers, an innovator and leader in the design, manufacture and deployment of fault tolerant computers.  There he was actively involved in implementing large multi-institution financial networking systems throughout the western United States.  In 1986 he moved to Singapore to support and manage the international financial software systems group for the Asia/Pacific rim operations of CAP (Sema) Group UK, one of the largest European consulting services firms. - Complete Bio.


Paul Hoyt-Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Hoyt has over 35 years experience leading teams to improve profitability and productivity. Comfortable “from the boardroom to the boiler room,” he has worked with dozens of organizations across many industries, and at all levels. His experience includes P&L responsibilities at EDS, Oracle, Litton Industries, and Qwest Cyber Solutions. In addition, Mr. Hoyt has successfully started and managed two professional services companies, and consulted with hundreds of companies of all sizes.

Mr. Hoyt has a passion to help others succeed, especially small business owners. As a Business Architect, he is an expert at helping new businesses develop their initial plans, financial models, and growth strategies. For existing companies, he has enjoyed tremendous success at helping them develop and execute strategic plans to achieve their growth and exit strategy objectives. Robin Crest- Chief Operations Officer

 

Robin brings over 30 years of executive management experience providing a broad range of business strategy services including sales & marketing, competitive technology analysis, strategic positioning, regulatory strategy, finance, business development, human resources development, costs analysis benchmarking and strategic planning to build high performance output and drive shareholder value.   Through years of consulting with a broad range of companies such as HP, Agilent, IBM, Quantum, Lumileds, Philips, CIT, Alza (Johnson & Johnson), Wells Fargo, Synaptics, Genentech, plus many small to mid caps and founding International Pearl Association and two nonprofit organizations Robin has been instrumental in launching 20 start-ups with 17 being successful, and raising over $100,000,000 for her portfolio companies.


Robin earned her undergraduate degree in performance, conducting and composition at Northeast Missouri State University, declined graduate school scholarship at Northwestern University upon realizing if she accepted would have no chance to conduct symphony or teach in a major university which at that time were paramount.  Robin went on to teach secondary and college level instrumental music until her entrepreneurial spirit pulled her into business world in 1985.  Currently Robin resides in Woodside, CA, and in her spare time is a volunteer for the Billy Graham organization, is a Stephen Minister and is working to establish an endowment for a Mexican orphanage.  Robin is a pilot and avid golfer.

 

DON SMITH- Senior Program Manager

 

Don Smith has been in the payments industry creating and growing companies successfully for more than 20 years. The first company was DPI Merchant Services that provided payment and data services to such companies as Home Shopping Network, Nordic Track and many others.  Experience with both technology and sales have proven beneficial in starting several Independent Sales Organizations and technology companies like Secured Electronic Commerce.   Don has provided his expertise to MasterCard for the Diner’s Card conversion and to Discover for their “Universal Discover Acceptance” program.  Other major clients have included: Visa International, American Express, Google, Yahoo, Cybersource, and EBay.  With his in depth knowledge of the payments industry, he has been called as an expert witness.


Some of his selected achievements include:

 

  • Implemented a retooled global e-commerce/transaction program at Microsoft resulting in annualized savings of greater than $40 million the first year.
  • Formed an independent sales organization with $50,000 capital and grew annual gross revenues to $7 million in three years.
  • Created specialized transaction processing software for the direct marketing, infomercial, non-swipe industry.
  • Designed and implemented multi-payment transaction software for Home Shopping Network in conjunction with First National Bank of Omaha.
  • Consulted for clients such as Warner Brothers, Seventeen and others regarding transactional, data and communication issues.
  • Developed extensive Internet-based advertising and marketing program leveraging premium partners in target categories.

 

BRYAN EFIMOV-Director of Merchant Operations-ISO Channel

 

Mr. Efimov is a 19 year veteran of the transaction processing industry. He has served in many areas of the processing business, ranging from Sales and Marketing to all aspects of the back office. This includes Application Management Processing, Credit Underwriting, Risk, Customer Service, Equipment Management/Deployment, Communications and IT services. He has served as EVP of Business and systems as well as Director of Operations where he negotiated agreements for all aspects of operations.  He has managed teams of 35 people or more several mid range ISO’s and processing centers. He has successfully built and sold merchant portfolios, including his first one to a large processor for over 16MM, and a second that was sold for over 235MM. His responsibilities have included reporting to the EVP of Operations, President and the Board of Directors for all ISO Operations and Sales.
